Discipline is the bridge between the goal and the achievement of the goal. So is it easy to get it? It is, as long as you do it consciously and every day. It starts with the smallest decisions like what to wear every morning, choosing the stairs over the elevator. There are some small tips that can help you to become more disciplined and achieve your goals.

5 Tips that will help you gain more discipline

  1. Keep a daily diary. It is important to have an organization in everyday life. You don’t have to record every hour of the day. You can write down the most important things you want to do during the day. So you will keep yourself accountable and disciplined.
  2. Keep a food diary. We often say we want to eat healthier or drink more water. If we write down exactly what we consume during the day, it is also easier to identify what we don’t like and we can change it.
  3. Start with one thing at a time. Focus your attention on one thing at a time. Don’t try to do it all at once. Discipline is a muscle. The more you practice it, the stronger it gets.
  4. Control your emotions. Recognizing when you are acting out of emotion and when you are acting logically is the first step to self-discipline. If you learn to control your emotions, it will be easier to stick to your plan.
  5. Stick to your plan. To gain discipline, it is not enough to just make a plan. You have to stay true to that. Follow it. Apply it. The plan you have made to achieve your goal should be read all the time. Adapt it and change it if it no longer suits you.
