No more greasy roots and dry edges !

What causes oily roots and dry
edges?

Oily roots are caused by the sebaceous glands in your scalp. These glands produce excess sebum which is then transferred from the roots, to the lengths of your hair and can make your hair look greasy around the scalp.

Oily skin can be genetic or caused by hair products. The reality is that many products, especially organic ones containing essential oils, can contribute to extra oiliness.

When left untreated, an oily scalp can cause various problems, such as seborrheic dermatitis etc.

Dry acne, on the other hand, can be caused by various wrong moves in our daily life, which we often do not pay much attention to, such as:

  • Wrong way of washing
  • Exposure to the sun without sun protection
  • Frequent and sudden changes in the weather
  • Wrong hair products

Tips for dealing with the problem

1.The right hairbrush

A common misconception is that brushing oily hair makes the hair greasier, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Brushing your hair can help redistribute the natural oils from the root of your hair to all lengths and any dry ones. So, by using the right brush, you can better redistribute the natural oils in your hair to combat an oily scalp and dry patches.

For example, pig hair brushes (Pig Hair Brushes for extensions) are ideal for evenly distributing the natural oils from the scalp to all hair lengths.

It is also important to determine the correct length of the hairs. For example, if you have thick oily hair, it will be more difficult to penetrate your scalp with shorter brushes.

So it would be a good idea to visit your hairdresser to get the right advice on choosing the right brush.

2.Water temperature

A common mistake that all women make, especially in the winter months, is to use too much hot water during the washing process. The great temperature change that occurs, however, results first of all in dry skin and at the same time the body tries to balance the natural oiliness in the skin, secreting much more sebum than it should, resulting in our hair being very oily.

So my advice on this part is to bathe in lukewarm to cold water as much as possible… for God’s sake don’t freeze to death😉

3)Your sunscreen!

Yes you heard right about sunscreen, it’s not just for the face and body, it’s for the hair too. We need to understand that our hair is also part of our body.

That’s why using a proper hair sunscreen, which you will have purchased from your salon, you will protect your hair first of all from the harmful rays of the sun, so your hair will be moisturized, and at the same time your ends will not be dry!

4)Wrong products

A very common phenomenon is that many women come to the salon with a wrong opinion about the quality of their hair, let alone their scalp.

Now who diagnosed her is of no interest to us and we will not look into it. What we are interested in is that we see that the diagnosis is wrong, so either the wrong products are used on the hair, or there is a wrong way of using the products on the hair.

So my advice can in no way be through the blog to make the diagnosis. So what I have to suggest is that if you have a problem with oily roots and dry ends it would be good to do all of the above. At the same time, visit your hairdresser as soon as possible, who you trust in their field, so that they can make a proper diagnosis and provide you with the right products… and believe me, you will see a difference from the very first applications.

It is very mature to pass the opinion of experts on our problem so in our case the expert is your hairdresser!!!!
