The power of the price list

In this article in Hairdressing News we will look at a key element in salon turnover.
This is none other than the power of the price list.

An important part of our store’s marketing is the price list.
It’s not about the prices, but about the quality-price ratio that the client perceives in the salon.

In the last year the costs of running a salon business have increased significantly,
making its proper organization imperative.
One main reason is the energy crisis.
Thus leading many salon owners to raise prices to ensure the profitability of the salon.
Pay attention to the following:

Price List Presentation

Because you are selling services and experiences, it would be a good idea to replace the classic price list with a “service menu”.
That is, describe each benefit in detail & the procedures you follow.

For example, instead of writing:

Haircut: 30 euros, you can write:

Haircut – Diagnosis of Personality, Style test and Styling 30 euros.

Turnover per hour – Duration of services

The profitability of a salon depends on the turnover per hour of each employee.
If a 17€ hairstyle has to be done in half an hour, and it takes 45 minutes, the turnover per hour and therefore the profitability per hour is limited.

So, clearly indicate the duration of the services next to the cost on the price list.
If you need more time with the client then you can charge for it.

The price list must have its own page on the salon’s website

Your values, whatever they may be, are something to be proud of.
So, presenting your price list with a detailed description of services and duration is very important.
Customers want to know what they are being charged and you should be proud of your value for money.

Quality/Price Ratio

What is expensive for a consumer is not the absolute price of a service or product.
Something is expensive when we don’t get what we expect.

So, by increasing your prices, make sure that the quality/price and expectation/price ratios remain competitive.
