Atime sweat leave my makeup alone!

Summer’s here. Finally. After an admittedly difficult winter, we were all looking forward to it. And surely, when you hear the word summer, you think of beaches, Sunday walks on the seashore, sunny mornings and calamari with ouzo. But somewhere here, I’m going to pop in, like the sober one of the group, to mention something else that comes to mind with the word summer.
This is my eternal enemy…..

THE DAMN SWEAT!

Eternal problem.. A lot of people sweat, but some of us, myself included, overdo it. I have the pleasure (not) of sweating mostly on my face, so I’ve been struggling with my good looks and makeup for many years.

So I’ll share with you the tricks I’ve discovered, as well as my secrets for staying decent until the temperatures return to normal!

To start, hydrate and primer

Makeup stability is not only about the way the makeup is applied but also about the pre-treatment that has been done on the skin. Opt for moisturizing products that are non-greasy, thin-flowing and, ideally, water-based. In addition, a primer that gives a matte texture will contribute to the better appearance of your foundation and prevent the makeup from “running”.

Attention to the shade

Before you start applying the product you’ve chosen for your base, think carefully! Is it the right shade? Many times the product we have purchased happens to be a shade darker or a shade lighter than our actual skin colour. If this is the case in your case, avoid using it on days when your makeup may be affected, thus avoiding having drips on your face.

Light base products

I understand that the main use of a Foundation is to provide cover and for many people that is the main reason for using it. However, on days when the thermometer is predicted to be in the forties, a liquid heavy base is not a good idea. Instead, your best ally in this case is either a moisturiser with a little colour or a powder with a little coverage. The thinner the product, the greater its stability.

Transparent powder

In case you choose a liquid base product, don’t forget to set it with a transparent powder. It will give you extra stability and help it stay in place. Avoid applying products with your hands, as the oiliness of the hands will dilute the foundation and give it a shorter shelf life.

Paper and not powder

When that fateful time actually comes when you start to sweat, don’t grab the powder and start going over everything! Such a move will only have the effect of creating a wonderful mud. In this difficult time your best friend is a tissue. As long as you’ve followed the previous steps, when you dab (and for goodness sake, don’t rub) your face lightly to draw out the moisture, your makeup will still look intact.

Waterproof products in the eyes

When it comes to the mascara and liner you’re going to use, go for waterproof products. A soft non-waterproof eye pencil cannot cope with intense sweating conditions and will inevitably end up, unfortunately, in smudging. Another tip is to avoid placing products on the lower eyelid, as it is the area most prone to damage.

I hope with these supplies your life becomes a little easier on those tough heatwave days!

And Ninetaaa! The Evian!

Good creations and

GOOD CAROL
