5 Types of Clients in the Hair Salon

Your clientele is your wealth. Without strong customer service, a salon will collapse.
So maintaining a good relationship with your existing customers is just as important as acquiring new customers,
for the development of the salon.
But to do this we need to know what our client’s motivation and needs are.

In this article in Hairdressing News we will talk about five customer groups and what is important for each one.

  • The customer who wants affordable prices
  • The client who is interested in protecting the planet
  • The client who is interested in the experience
  • The client who cares about health
  • The client who cares about society

The customer who wants affordable prices

They embrace austerity as a way of life

They place great emphasis on cost but also on prices .
Sustainability is the high priority of these customers.

So what to keep in mind:

  1. Simplify the choices and expand the range of lower-priced alternatives.
  2. Make the experience more personal. Make it easier for customers to choose your services or buy your products at discounted prices.

The client who is interested in protecting the planet

Making sustainable choices for a better future

They are more conscientious about the products they buy and the companies they support.
They are looking for ways to reduce their environmental impact and are also willing to make sacrifices to do so.

What to keep in mind:

  1. You need to be honest about your services and also your products.
It must also be possible to understand how the product or service is priced from the point of view of the πελατών .
  2. Invest further in sustainable and recyclable solutions, including plant-based products.
  3. Keep an eye on fashion trends and follow them as they wish to follow them
and they’re willing to pay for it.

The client who is interested in the experience

Living for today, not tomorrow

These clients have an income and education above the average usually.
They are particularly concerned about their finances, but they are also optimistic.
They care about the environment, but it’s not their priority.

What to keep in mind:

  1. Keep the quality high. Not willing to sacrifice quality for sustainability.
  2. Create unique opportunities but also experiences .
  3. Use innovative products and digital channels that create a sense of exclusivity.

The client who cares about health

Focusing on their personal well-being.

They prioritise their mental and physical well-being.
However, they are no more concerned about their health than anyone else.
They are open to trying new experiences, but will try to avoid crowds as a precautionary measure.

What to keep in mind:

  1. Use innovative plant-based products that combine benefits for physical health.
  2. Offer beauty and health services, such as facial or head massage, etc.
  3. Make sure your space is clean and organised.

The client who cares about the community

Making choices that benefit the whole

They are concerned about the rising cost of living.
They are changing their habits to reduce costs.
They feel responsible to encourage others to adopt sustainable behaviours.

What to keep in mind:

  1. These clients are very sensitive to social injustice (e.g. unemployment, redundancies, poverty, etc.)
  2. Make sure that your company’s policy works for society as a whole. For example, you recycle etc.
  3. Connect your services and products to issues that touch the public. For example, use products that are not tested on animals, etc.
