Anyone trying to live an eco-friendly lifestyle probably already knows about the powerful forces of baking soda. This handy white powder perfumes fridges, unclogs blocked drains, relieves itchy bites, cleans tough spots everywhere – from the kitchen to the bathroom – and makes cakes, breads and other baked goodies fluffy and delicious.

And yet baking soda works ecological magic and wonders in the area of beauty and care of your skin, hair and teeth! Let’s take a more detailed look.

  • Natural dry shampoo

On those days when you don’t have time to shower, baking soda can do the job, removing the grease from your hair. Pour a tablespoon of baking soda on your oily roots. Massage gently and then use a fine brush to comb through your hair. Instant freshness!

  • Facial cleansing and makeup removal

A very small amount of soda in the palm of your hand is enough. Add a few drops of water and then rub the skin. Be careful with the area around your eyes. Rinse well when you are finished.

  • Pedicure

Treat yourself with a homemade pedicure with soda as the star ingredient. Immerse your tired feet in a basin of lukewarm water and 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to make the mixture smell nice. Immerse your feet for 15-20 minutes.

Then rub the hard surfaces on your soles and heels with a soda and water paste. This will remove rough areas and dead skin.

  • Teeth whitening

Mix 6 teaspoons of baking soda, 1/3 teaspoon of salt, 4 teaspoons of glycerin and 15 drops of peppermint oil. Dip a toothbrush into the mixture and voila, ready to brush.
