First of all, don’t paint them black, literally and figuratively!
How do I cover my root? What will I do with my haircut? My hair colour has faded! My hair is very dehydrated, what should I do? What products to buy, how will I know what I need?
So let’s take them one by one. First, there are ways to cover your root until the salons open.
-Shouldn’t I get a dye job to “patch” it up a bit and then have my hairdresser fix it for me? The answer is NO ! Why not? Because if your hair is blonde and you want to cover your dark natural roots, it’s very likely that the shade you see on the box will have nothing to do with the result you’ll get when you apply it to your hair.
That is, the color will have a lot of warm pigments, yellow shades, something that a blonde doesn’t want at all and is her nightmare. Also the second, bigger risk, is to get serious damage, hair breakage, destruction, even alopecia and all this, if you do your own decapage at home !
This technical work is for professionals only. Better a black root and healthy hair than a wrongly dyed root, with many risks of damage.

How will we cover the root eventually?
There are sprays on the market that are specifically designed to cover the root in various shades of blonde, red and brown. It is not the same as dyeing, but it creates a temporary camouflage. Also a solution, are the eye shadows. All women have a palette of shades. You will take a brush and after wetting it with a little water and the shade of your choice, you will paint the root locally. This will help to cover the white hair. Another solution is brown, black or whatever colour mascara you have at home.
What do we do with the haircut?
Here, in the problem with the haircut, there is no such easy solution. No, don’t get into the process of practicing on mom’s, sister’s and the whole family’s hair and that’s because, you definitely won’t have professional scissors, but some kitchen scissors or something like that, so a bad pair of scissors will create more split ends in your hair. So, you better wait for your favorite hairdresser, so you don’t ruin them both in the haircut line and in avoiding split ends!
Tip: Take care of their quality with a good mask and care products until the salons open again.
Has the colour faded in your hair? Prevention is the best medicine, I always say!
So what do we do about it? We make sure that when we have a special color in our hair such as red, copper, metallic colors or blond, we have purchased from our hairdresser the right products for their maintenance. The wrong shampoo can bleach the beautiful colour out of your hair from the very first wash. That’s why we always use a shampoo suitable for your shade. There are also products in various companies, professional creams and shampoos with color, in many shades to restore your color very simply and quickly by shampooing without spending any time.
Tip: Avoid using too hot water for shampooing your hair. In this way you will ensure a longer period of time to maintain your colour.
Dehydrated hair
I’m sure all women have a good hair mask in their bathroom and have hardly used it at all. Its time has come, as long as it’s not expired, just watch this. Try to consume the products you have at home.
It’s a good opportunity to do single treatments at home with oils such as coconut oil (my favourite). Argan Oil from the pharmacy will help a lot in moisturizing your hair! (I have a recipe for coconut mask in a previous article, which I attach).
Avoid frequent combing, it’s a chance since we don’t have anywhere special to go in the quarantine period.
What products do I need? The best way is to send a message to your favourite hairdresser and have them help you. He knows better than anyone what exactly you need, so you don’t get the wrong products for your hair quality. I am sure she will be very happy to help you and maybe find a solution for your purchase !
