Hello and joy to all! So let us introduce ourselves! My name is Myrto Paretzoglou a.k.a. Departez.
I have been doing makeup professionally for 13 years now and I am in the privileged position to say that I love my job! Having put on my resume jobs in fashion, theatre, photography and many other glamorous jobs, I have had such wonderful moments that I can now confidently state that I could not do any other profession but this one!
But let’s take things from the beginning.
For as long as I can remember, my love has been art in all its forms.
I have always been a restless spirit, with a great imagination, lots of energy and plenty of craziness!
I was busy with all sorts of creations, painting, sculpture, woodcarving and anything else I could get my hands on.
I was fascinated to visualize, either a new form for a material, or something on a canvas.
and after my intervention I now hold my vision in my hands.
However, it didn’t take me long to apply my experiments to my face and there was a big click!
That’s it! I was in love!
So I realized my love for makeup early on.
The magic behind its potential: “To be every day who you want to be.”
Beyond a blush and a lipstick, makeup is an art, it is an emotion, it is a way of communication.
It is a means to project a part of one’s inner world and personality.
With the right knowledge, one acquires the superpower of transformation.
Just as with a blank canvas in painting, the possibilities are endless.
The girl next door becomes a shocking femme fatale.
Someone else becomes the rock star he always dreamed of becoming.
And somewhere else, perhaps as you read this, someone may be creating the next compelling cinematic figure,
that will be indelibly engraved in our minds.
There are no limits as long as there is imagination..
The professional make up artist bears the responsibility of making the vision of the people who put their trust in him/her come true.
Whether it’s a face that was left in my hands to project the perfected version of itself,
or to create an art editorial for a photographer, the purpose is the same.

to walk through this magical world of creation.
Education is perhaps my favourite part of the job.
It gives me great satisfaction to watch “beginners” unfold as artists
and to know that I’ve done my part in it.
