More than 50% of new cases of covid19 are now affected by the Delta mutation. As stated by the president of the Institute of Medical Biological Research of the Academy of Athens (IIBEAA) Dimitris Thanos, the best protection comes with vaccination, despite the fact that the effectiveness is reduced due to the%-15% mutation.

According to APE-MPA, some countries around the world, after the huge increase in cases, have pushed governments to make vaccination mandatory in one way or another, especially for adults.
TAJIKISTAN: A government decree, published by the official Tajik news agency, obliges all citizens over the age of 18 to be vaccinated, but without giving further details and without specifying under what conditions this obligation will apply.
TURKMENISTAN: This isolated central Asian country, one of the rare ones in the world that has not reported a single case of Covid-19, announced on 7 July through its Ministry of Health that it is making vaccination against Covid-19 mandatory for all residents over 18 years of age, provided there are no medical contraindications.
VATICAN CITY: In a notice dated 8 February, vaccination has become compulsory for residents of the world’s smallest state and for those who work in it. Sanctions can in theory go as far as dismissing those who do not comply.
INDONESIA: The country made Covid-19 vaccinations compulsory in February and authorities threaten to impose fines of up to €5 million rupees (357 US dollars) for refusing vaccination.
Mandatory vaccination for certain categories of the population:
ITALY: A legislative decree, adopted on 25 May, obliges doctors and health service staff, including pharmacists, to be vaccinated against Covid-19 because otherwise they will not be able to work in contact with other people. Those who refuse may be put on unpaid suspension for the rest of the year. This vaccination requirement was challenged in court by 300 Italian nurses and the hearing was scheduled to start the day before yesterday, Wednesday.
UNITED KINGDOM: The government announced on 16 June that full vaccination against coronavirus will become compulsory from October for all those working in care homes in England, including non-medical staff such as hairdressers, beauticians and volunteers.
AUSTRALIA: The country decided at the end of June to make the Covid-19 vaccination compulsory for high-risk workers in nursing homes and for workers in quarantine hotels. It also made it compulsory to vaccinate the Australian Paralympic athletes who will be going to Tokyo because unvaccinated members of the team could pose a health risk.
FRANCE: All health workers must be vaccinated against Covid-19 and anyone who wants to go to a cinema or board a train will have to show proof of vaccination or a negative test, under new rules announced on Monday by President Emmanuel Macron.
POLAND: The country may make vaccination compulsory from August for some people at increased risk from Covid-19.
RUSSIA: President Vladimir Putin is opposed to mandatory vaccination at the national level, but the Mayor of Moscow announced on 16 June that vaccination of service workers is becoming mandatory. Also at the end of June, the Muscovite authorities instructed cafes, bars and restaurants to serve only people who have proof of vaccination, immunity or a negative Covid test. The Russian capital has also unveiled a plan that calls for the full vaccination of 60% of workers in the entire service sector, some two million people, by 15 August. Since then, other local entities, including St Petersburg and its region, have taken similar measures.
KAZAKHSTAN: The country will introduce mandatory Covid-19 vaccination or testing every week for all those working in groups of more than 20 people, the health ministry announced on 23 June. Those who refuse to be vaccinated will be banned from coming into contact with other persons in the course of their professional duties.
Fiji: This Pacific Ocean archipelago has made vaccination compulsory for public and private sector workers. Civil servants will have to take leave if they have not made their first instalment by 15 August, and risk being dismissed if the second instalment is not granted before 1 November. In the private sector, employees must make their first instalment by 1 August.
US: The city of San Francisco announced at the end of June that it will require its approximately 35,000 employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19, otherwise they will face disciplinary sanctions that could include dismissal. However, this requirement will not apply until the vaccines are fully approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
According to a statement by the AP-MPA, more than 150 employees of one of the largest hospitals in Texas were fired or resigned after refusing to be vaccinated, which the hospital required. Some workers appealed to the courts against the hospital, as their appeal was rejected.
I’m not forcing you?
The state may not force you to get vaccinated, but by putting restrictions on everything, it indirectly forces you to do so.
SAUDI ARABIA: The kingdom has ordered all public and private sector workers who want to go to work to be vaccinated, but did not specify when this obligation will be implemented. Vaccination will also be required from 1 August to enter any government, private or educational institution, including places of entertainment, and to use any public transport.
PAKISTAN. On 1 July, the province of Balochistan, in southwest Pakistan, banned unvaccinated people from entering public services, parks, shopping malls and public transport. In other regions of the country, notably Sindh province, civil servants in the province who refuse to be vaccinated will no longer be paid, while authorities in Punjab province have threatened to cut off the phone to those who refuse the vaccine.
