Don’t tell me that, as the weather got better, you didn’t think about ice cream!
Walking with ice cream in hand, walks with ice cream, dessert at home a huge bowl of ice cream, first choice in cafes and pastry shops…. ice cream.
What is your favourite flavour? Chocolate? Strawberry? Vanilla? Fruit? Anything strange? Strange? With sugar, syrup, whipped cream or stevia? There are hundreds of flavours helping ice cream to be the favourite dessert of young and old alike.
The process of making an ice cream is not difficult. You can make your own and even healthier!!!
Specifically, you find the ingredients you want, mix them, put them in the freezer and wait for it to freeze.
Usually in the ice creams sold in the market, the content of fat, protein, sugar or sweeteners, colourings, flavourings is high.
However, I would never write a text against the beloved ice cream and in any case I would find its positive aspects. The basic raw material of ice cream is milk, which is rich in calcium, magnesium and vitamins. In fact, according to research, its health benefits are that it has a relatively low glycemic index compared to other foods such as white bread and rice.
Ice cream has a positive effect on the health of the body, it has been proven that its consumption is an excellent source of energy, since it contains, among other things, fat, carbohydrates and protein. It is also an important source of vitamins A, C, D and E and B-6 and B-12 and minerals (calcium and phosphorus).
However, ice cream in daily consumption can also be bad for us, since it contains fats and sugar. When cholesterol levels in the blood are too high, atherosclerotic plaque, a deposit of fat in the arteries, can build up, blocking blood flow and increasing the risk of heart disease and stroke.
In cases of people who are bothered by milk, it can also cause digestive disorders.
The fat in an ice cream depends mainly on us. The more whipped cream, syrup, truffles, biscuits, sweets, chocolates, candies, you add on top… the more the glycemic index increases. A simple popsicle or diet ice cream can only have 100 calories!
As much as ice cream is a favorite, be careful when eating it. According to nutritionists, do not consume more than 3 ice creams per week… depending of course on your age and weight. When buying your ice cream, pay attention to the instructions of the National Food Control Agency. The packaging must be hard, not wet at all and the paper must not be torn or stuck to the ice cream. Also make sure you only buy ice cream from clean refrigerators located in shady places. If it’s melted, don’t eat it, just throw it away and avoid brightly coloured ice creams, which contain large amounts of dyes.
