Nails: Why do you need to take care of them properly?

Our nails need proper care! Whether they are peeling or fragile and delicate, they should not be left to their own devices.

They need special care!

Are they fragile?

One in three women complain that their nails peel and break easily. This, in addition to poor grooming, may indicate a lack of iron, calcium or vitamins, especially A, B6 and C. After you have it checked, a regimen of nutritional supplements, iron and amino acid supplements, thionine and cystine will help. Also use protective products that strengthen the keratin and strengthen the consistency of the nails.

Do they have an uneven surface?

Parallel ripples on the nail surface are possibly hereditary, but they also indicate that they have been mistreated during the manicure.

Do you have fungus?

You will know you are infected because there will be a lot of pain, the colour of the nails will change and become yellowish, and the area around and underneath them will be reddened and loose. Use the special products for onychomycosis, but if the problem is serious, consult your dermatologist. He’s likely to give you some antibiotic treatment.

The key to it all is the right environment

Use a soft file, wooden and not metal, and make gentle strokes.

Don’t cut off your cuticles and your toenails. The goal is to soften them so that you can push them back in with the special granular hook.

Exfoliate your hands regularly with a face or body scrub and then use a cream rich in vitamins, water and fatty elements.

Don’t leave toenails untreated. Once a week, remove the hard parts of the foot and soften the skin on your heels with a pumice stone or a special brush. After the bath, use a moisturizing body lotion with a light massage.

Did you know these?

The material with which the nails are made consists of a complex of keratin, water, phospholipids and various minerals (calcium, phosphorus, sodium, zinc, etc.).

The nails of the hands grow three times faster than those of the feet. Also, while the nails on the hands are fully regenerated in six months, toenails take a year to regenerate (which is why treatments for the feet are long).

The heat favours their growth even more and that is why the nails grow faster in the summer, while their maximum growth during the day occurs in the morning hours.
