Gratitude is the Alpha and Omega of a happy life. There are many benefits to both mental and physical health from the practice of gratitude. Its regular practice has been shown to have measurable positive results.

Stress reduces the immune response to potential physical threats. While increased mental wellbeing can help your body fight disease.

Exercising gratitude also has the ability to improve other aspects of physical health. An early-stage study in 2017 claims that it may reduce the risks associated with heart failure.

Practicing gratitude regularly can help relieve symptoms of anxiety and depression. An earlier study in 2003 noted that gratitude was associated with improved mood.

Gratitude plays a key role in building relationships, as well as strengthening the bonds we already have.

A 2010 study showed that partners who showed gratitude for each other reported increased relationship satisfaction and improved happiness the next day.

If you’re not naturally optimistic, practicing gratitude can help you cultivate an optimistic outlook, as suggested by a 2018 study.

In an earlier study, just 10 weeks of regular gratitude practice was enough to make participants feel more optimistic and positive about their present life and the future.
