Canada Goose will stop using coyote fur

Canada Goose, a company known for outerwear – winter coats has announced that it will stop using real animal fur in its products.

In April, the winter clothing brand issued a statement clarifying that it would no longer buy fur from hunters setting animal traps and would instead start recycling fur items.

However, after much debate, the Canadian brand has announced that it will completely end its purchase of fur this year and the creation of clothing with the material by the end of 2022.

Asked to comment on whether animal rights activists’ campaigns have contributed to this commitment, Canada Goose president Danny Rice told the “The New York Times“: “Our central goal has always been to produce products that offer excellent quality, protection from the elements and meet exactly what consumers need.“.

The company has received negative comments in the press about the use of coyote fur.

The decision to stop using real fur is obviously part of an attempt to mitigate the reactions. In the past she has also been criticized for using goose down for the lining of her jackets.
