As magical as decapage can be, it can be just as destructive when not used properly.
We never, ever, ever decapitate alone at home.
It requires application only by a specialist, otherwise it can be dangerous for our hair and not only.
Many people think, that with the decapage we dye the hair. This is not right.
With decapage we do hair discoloration and that is why it is a technique that requires special care and knowledge,
so that we do not have undesirable effects on our hair, skin and our health in general.
After the hair has been discolored, it is easy to “catch” the color we want.
As the experts say:
Hair discoloration is achieved by oxidation of the melanin present in the cortex of the hair.
Hydrogen peroxide is used as an oxidising agent which releases oxygen
and binds the hair pigments and brightens their color.
As you can understand, decapage is not something we can do on our own or experiment with.
We should ONLY contact hairdressing salons and ONLY those that have specialized partners with knowledge in the subject.
Even at the salon, ideally we should ask for an allergy test on our skin, in which they put a small amount of the chemical on a spot on our skin and monitor whether any allergic reaction occurs after a few hours.
It is known that with just a few minutes of abuse of the decapage, we can destroy our hair
and in some cases even our skin.
It is not rare that we receive messages from visitors of our salon, who experimented on their own
with such techniques and ask for advice afterwards on how to “survive” their hair.
Take great care with these techniques.
These products may be easy to find on the market, but this does not mean that their use is
can be done recklessly and without knowledge.
