The summer holidays have arrived! Finally, we can escape from the routine of everyday life and the difficulties caused by covid.
Let’s go enjoy the sea, sun and cocktails at August sunset.
Whatever destination you have chosen for this year, I hope you have a fantastic time!
I, however, for my part, will share with you some secrets on how to pamper yourself on your beach trips!
Take a cool shower.
A day under the sun usually means layers upon layers of sunscreen. Mixing various products with sea salt creates a chaotic condition for your skin. Thoroughly cleanse your body of beach residue using a moisturizing shower gel. Cool water is definitely more refreshing, plus it helps to make your tan last longer. After that, apply a moisturizing body butter, on still damp skin, to lock in moisture.
Take care of your hair.
The sun and salt dehydrate the scalp and make your hair wild, tangled and frizzy. To avoid this, before heading to the beach, apply a sunscreen hair spray to protect your hair from the sun’s rays. After intense sun exposure your hair will need good hydration with a conditioning cream or mask. Prefer to apply with a comb with sparse teeth so that the bristles don’t break while brushing.
Exfoliate your feet.
After so many months with shoes on your feet there is nothing better than the feeling of your bare feet in the sand. First of all, walking on the sand is a great workout and secondly it works as a natural way of exfoliation. When you find yourself in shallow water that you step in, rub your heels on the bottom of the sea for an even better result. At the end of the day, moisturise your feet using a rich cream.
Put on lip balm.
The skin of your lips is one of the most sensitive areas of your body. To avoid possible sunburn and chapping, apply a lip balm with a protection factor. Remember to repeat it every now and then during your bath. As for after the sea, the same rules apply as with the rest of the body. Hydration! Try applying a generous amount of product before you go to bed to act as an overnight treatment.
Protect your face.
Avoid peeling products for at least 24 hours after the sea. The combination of sand and sea salt act as a natural peeling in their own right. Thoroughly cleanse your face to make sure you’ve removed all the sunscreen before applying your moisturiser.
Hydrate yourself!
Under the sun and with the salt, the body dehydrates very quickly. So before you go out to enjoy your lovely summer afternoon cocktails, drink plenty of water to bring your body’s moisture levels back to normal.
