There’s an expiration date on your brush!

“Comb your hair a hundred styles to make it silky,” was my mom’s advice, which I eventually learned to do on a daily basis. But there is a specific way to comb your hair and special brushes, depending on your hair type. Do you have curly hair or straight hair? Do you comb them while they are wet or dry? It’s the way and the brush that matters.
Do you have the right brush?

Out there in the market there are brushes for all tastes, all styles, all budgets. There is a huge variety and this makes your choice of purchase … a confusing problem.
Do you know that it’s not enough to have a brush for ten years that just does the job, but it would be good to change it every 6 to 8 months, so you don’t ruin your hair by brushing it?

Most utility items have an expiry date.
Even if you take care of them like your eyes, you’ll still have to replace them at some point, just maybe not as soon as if you didn’t take care of them.

First of all, you need to clean your brush often, because due to daily use, bacteria, dust, hair care product residues and general grease from your hair accumulate between its teeth. You realize that if you don’t clean it, all these germs will be deposited in your hair, initially dirtying it and eventually even causing dermatitis.

On the other hand, cleaning is not enough.
Check for missing teeth or if the pad of your brush is broken, because if this is the case it will probably damage the quality of your hair, constantly break the ends and significantly reduce the shine and volume.

Anything that brushes your hair is a brush. The question is what kind of brush is it?
To decide what you need to buy exclusively for your hair, you need to know all the types that are available.

And research tells us that…. there are the following brushes!!!!

Brush with synthetic bristles, especially for very thick hair since they do not create so much static electricity but they also untangle the hair easier.

Brush with natural bristles, usually made from boar hair. Soft brushes especially for women who have thin, straight hair and want shiny and soft hair.

Mixed bristle brush, is the brush that combines both shiny delicate hair and detangling. They are effective on all hair types.

Flat Brush, also known as an everyday brush. It doesn’t create unnecessary volume in your hair or frizz in your straightening.

Air Brush, a special brush for drying and straightening your hair. It reduces the time of heat on your hair and therefore less damage.

Round Brush, for hair with volume and a little curl. The narrower the brush, the tighter the curls will be. Try using cold air on your hair before you remove the brush from it, as this helps the style stay put.

Teasing Brush, for volume, creasing and smooth combing of hair as it is specially designed to help crease the hair, without cutting or damaging the hair, as a comb would do.

Comb Lissoir, you will recognize it by its long and thin handle. It is ideal for quickly and easily separating strands of hair, either for a hairstyle or for colouring. The fine teeth of the comb allow you to correct any imperfections in your hairstyle.

Wide-tooth comb, use it even after showering to remove knots without breaking the hair.

Brush for wet hair, does exactly the same job as a comb, the only difference is that it’s a brush. It has bristles that are about as hard as a comb, so it won’t pull them as hard as a traditional flat brush.
