“Hakuna Matata” is not just a well-known phrase from a cartoon.
It’s a real Swahili expression meaning “without worries”.
A life without worries… but isn’t it nice?
As funny as it sounds, it could easily be a philosophy of life.
And as a Life Coach, I want to share with you the key characteristics that could be,
the basis of this philosophy and art of “Hakuna Matata”.
Live in the present!
I live in the present, either enjoying the moment, or simply focusing consciously on what I am experiencing now and what is happening around me.
Also known as “mindfulness“.
I activate all five senses and focus my attention on the current situation.
The freedom
Freedom is a philosophical issue, as not everything in life depends on us.
But our freedom of thought is in our hands and our imagination has no limits.
So try to let your mind travel.
We have learned to operate in a standardised way on some issues.
Seeing something from a different perspective will help you to unblock your mind and get new ideas.
No worries
Try to reduce your anxiety about things that are out of your control.
And for the things that are under your control, learn from past mistakes and plan your future moves intelligently.
Being sad about what doesn’t change is not good for you.
Rules and obligations
Don’t make your life difficult by putting strict rules and obstacles in your own way.
Don’t take on the responsibilities and obligations of others.
Try saying “no” without remorse when someone tries to dump their work on you.
Because you deserve the best!
What do you think of this philosophy?
How would you apply “Hakuna Matata” in your daily life?
With love,
Natalia
