Social Hair Salon in the Municipality of Athens with the kind sponsorship of L’Oréal Hellas

The Reception and Solidarity Centre of the Municipality of Athens (K.Y.A.A.D.A.) held the inauguration of the “Social Hairdresser”.
It is an innovative structure, created with the kind sponsorship of the Professional Products Division of L’Oréal Hellas. (L’Oréal Professional Products).
Its aim is to offer free basic care services to vulnerable groups of citizens who face difficulties in their daily living. (haircut, shampooing and shaving)

To offer the precious gifts of beauty and care to people through the touch of a hairdresser, responded immediately to the request of K.Y.A.A.D.A. by sponsoring the construction and equipment of the space, as well as the provision of the necessary products for its operation.

The Social Hair Salon is located at the Citizens’ Help Hub of the Municipality of Athens (2 Domokou and Filadelfeias, Larissa Station). It is the first structure of the K.Y.A.D.A., which will operate exclusively with volunteer hairdressers.

The Mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis, said:

“The Citizens’ Help Hub is a structure through which we ensure with the required respect to offer homeless people, but also individuals and families in need all the necessary goods and services for their decent living. The creation of the “Social Hairdresser’s Shop” completes the wide range of services provided by the Municipality of Athens to all those who need our support. We would like to thank L’Oréal Professional Products for their valuable support in our project.

A special thank you, to Anastasios Stavropoulos – Anber

A special thanks to the hairdresser Anastasios Stavropoulos, as well as to the volunteer hairdressers who will support this effort. The “Social Hair Salon” is a complementary “step” in the effort of social reintegration and we are proud of this initiative”. The hairdresser Anastasios Stavropoulos is also known as “Anber”.

“For more than 100 years, L’Oréal Professional Products has been dedicated to beauty. We believe that it is particularly important, for reasons of hygiene and psychology, that every person has access to basic hair care, without segregation.
That is why we gladly accepted the invitation from the Municipality of Athens and the K.Y.A.A.D.A. to support the creation of the Social Hair Salon.
With our sponsorship, we undertook the reconstruction and equipping of the space to make it welcoming and functional, and of course to cover the needs in products.

The inauguration of the “Social Hairdresser’s Shop” took place on Tuesday, November 9th at the Citizen’s Mutual Aid Hub, in the presence of the Mayor of Athens, the President of the K.Y.A.D.A., Melina Daskalaki, as well as volunteer hairdressers and representatives of the hairdressing industry.

The SOCIAL HAIRMACHINE belongs to the entire hairdressing community and every hairdresser, from any corner of Greece, will be able to volunteer his services for a good cause.
