We love the water, the sea, the pools, the sand… summer in general.
And yet behind them, if you’re not careful, are fungi, germs and serious infections. Problems that from one day to the next can cause stinging, pain, strange fluids, itching, bad smells in your genitals, urethra, skin and nails. Something that can simply and easily ruin your holidays and your beautiful relaxing summer days.
With a little care, you have nothing to fear.
Remember when you were little and your mom used to put 2.3 swimsuits in that huge beach bag? You’ve always wondered why you have to change your wet swimsuits. Let me tell you that the first and best way to avoid fungal infections is to change the bottom especially of your wet swimsuit, so that it doesn’t stay dry on you. You can only stay in this swimsuit if you are sunbathing and therefore it will not take long to dry.
Moisture multiplies fungi. So don’t leave your feet wet. Wipe your feet, toes and nails thoroughly. Don’t leave a drop of water on them.
You don’t know what germs are on the lounger, chair, pebbles or sand you sit on, just with your wet swimsuit. Put your towel wherever you want and lie down on it.
Both chlorine and salt are not good to leave on you for hours. Immediately after your swim in the sea or pool, run for a bath with lukewarm water and lots of soap.
If you’re going for a walk in the pool, if you’re going to wash your feet or take a bath in the communal bathrooms… always wear your flip-flops. Never barefoot.
Infections, sex …caution!
Finally, something that has to do with germs, but not with the sea and definitely prevents any infection and fungal infection… is to go to the toilet often, to empty your bladder.
In particular, this should be done immediately after sex, whether it was with or without a condom. Even if the sex was with your long-time partner, immediately after the act… straight to the toilet!!!
