Say no to salt

“I love you like salt” the youngest son had said to his father and king, according to a Greek fairy tale, initially irritating his father. But when, years later, he started eating his food and there was no salt, he understood what his little son meant and loved him even more. How important do you consider salt to be in your life?

Salt is there, in its raw form, whether you want it or not. If it’s not enough, you usually add it to enhance the taste of your food.

Does he know that salt causes an increase in hypertension and consequently cardiovascular and stroke? That it helps with obesity, fluid retention, kidney stones, memory loss, osteoporosis, asthma?

According to experts, tasty salt does much more harm than we can imagine.

Research says that all of us, whether we are seeking it or not, eat far more salt in our daily lives than we should, since 75% of the amount we eat may not even realize it exists in ready-to-eat foods that are out there.

Each day we are entitled to only one teaspoon of salt, which is no more than 6 grams. However, research shows that children eat 8-10 grams and adults even 11.12 grams.

There is no can’t but won’t. So make sure you limit the salt not as much as you can, but as much as you want!!!! First of all, in the recipes you make at home, don’t add any salt at all. At first it will feel a bit more tasteless, but then you’ll get used to it and you won’t notice its non-existence. Also take some time when you’re at the supermarket, and read the labels of the foods you want to buy, finding out how much salt is in what you want. If you don’t see the word salt listed anywhere, look it up as sodium or sodium sodium and do the sodium number times 2.5 operation.
