Organization and Planning Roles of a Salon

The roles of Organisation and Planning play a very important purpose in a salon and
so in this article we will analyse exactly who they are.

Our Professional Personality

Each and every one of us has a different professional personality.
Professional personality is the set of our character preferences in relation to how we choose
communicate, make decisions, evaluate the events around us and behave.
For example, some people prefer to organise their time in great detail,
while others prefer to leave room to adapt more easily to the flow of events.
Some people prefer to think long before making a decision, while others prefer quick and immediate solutions.
The diversity of personalities within a group is also what helps in assigning roles.
The assignment of roles should be based on the personality of each team member.
That is, to suit the strengths and preferences of each individual.

The Organizers

They make clear what the objectives and priorities are.
They monitor the progress of the objectives and identify points of progress or mistakes.
They are calm, fair and promote a positive working atmosphere.
They make the plan and organisation of the day and remind the priorities.
The organisers are the ones who will set the goals for the day and remind you what is important to do and what is not.
They don’t necessarily have to be people who work in the receptionist position.
They may also be members of the salon’s production team.

The Stirrers

They bring energy, determination and a sense of urgency.
They are persistent and have no patience with those who do not show the necessary involvement and commitment.
They are passionate about achieving results and team goals.
They want to see fast progress and effort and give energy to the whole team.
The motivators, although they enjoy their role, can sometimes stress the team with their persistence and
eventually bring the opposite result.
It is important to personalise their communication based on the personality of each team member.

The Processors

They make sure that goals are achieved at the right time and in the right way.
They are anxious about completing the outcome and are controlling the details.
They are perfectionists and take personal responsibility for “delivering” the result.
They are organised with great discipline and a strong sense of responsibility.
The processors are the ones who, before the client leaves, will make sure that the diligence
of every little detail on it, it’s been done right.
It is not necessary that they will complete the client’s last service.
They are the ones who are anxious and worried about the final result and want to check it before the client leaves the salon.

Because of the particular professional personality that each and every one of us has
we as individuals are quite inadequate in relation to our abilities.
So we don’t have the ability to take on all the roles that exist in a team and
to serve them at a high level.
We can only take on roles that are compatible with our personality.
For example, an introverted person cannot take on the role of the Networker or a practical person and
a little conservative cannot assume the role of the Thinker who is always thinking about innovation and change.
So the team with the different personalities that it contains completes us where we on an individual level
we can’t contribute.
It is only through the team that we gain maximum strength.
