Talking is one of the best techniques for dealing with poor mental health,
in combination with meditation, exercise and exposure to nature.
For the latter, we have some solutions on how nature can stimulate the mental well-being of a hairdresser.

You need to understand the calming powers of water

Water is very healing and many consider it an elixir and source of life.
It covers more than 70% of the Earth’s surface,
makes up almost 70% of our body and over 70% of our heart and brain.
This deep biological connection has been shown to trigger an immediate response in our brain when we are near water.
The mere sight and sound of water can trigger a flood of wellness-promoting neurochemicals,
increase blood flow to the brain and heart and cause relaxation.
Just seeing the water is so relaxing!
It doesn’t have to be a sea of course, a lake, a river, or whatever you have nearby that counts.

To be connected to others

For starters, connecting with others is an everyday occurrence.
As well as at work.
It’s great to get out in nature with others.
Going for a walk with someone else is amazing.
There is so much to do in nature with others – sports, walks, camping, picnics…
Also, a walk is great for open discussion.
This will help take the pressure off your daily routine.

Get active in nature

Walk to work every day.
Take a longer walk before work. Take time to stop and look at the water if you get a chance.
It’s amazing how much difference it makes at the beginning and end of your day.

Learning new skills

In an everyday life where hairdressers absorb so much information about hair techniques,
so it’s time to learn the sounds of nature!

Just look at the sky.
Don’t laugh, really give it a try..
Looking up at the sky can get you out of all the problems you think are big.
People think that going out in nature means hiking, but it is not necessary.
Just getting out of your front door or out of the salon into the fresh air really helps.
You will see storms, rain, sunshine, clouds, just like our mood, the weather is constantly changing. (And it’s still blue!) Look at the vast sky and you’ll think how small you are beneath it.
Another way is to listen to nature, whether it’s the birds singing or the wind.
Don’t always listen to podcasts or music on the walk, an experiment will convince you.
