The Discovery
After 7 years of research in collaboration with the University of Ioannina, L’Oréal has discovered that the breakage and unreliable colour effect is due to the metal penetrating the inside of the hair and not the metal on its surface. During dyeing, balayage & decapage, the metal inside the hair interacts with the oxidant, leading to breakage and less reliable color.
The Solution
L’Oréal Professionnel Paris has developed a protocol with a molecule that, thanks to its small size, is able to target the metal inside the hair: glucoamine.

The Results
This protocol was thoroughly studied by scientists and 3 international hairdressers, in 102 sensory tests and over 1000 in vivo tests.
The results were impressive, with tests showing 87% less risk of breakage and 100% reliable colour results, with no impact on opening and optimised pigment deposition.
