The Women’s Empowerment Summit included a closed-door event that
took place at the Palais de Tokyo, with discussions with Emily Ratajkowski, Ebonee Davis, Rupi Kaur,

A sparkling artistic creation that symbolizes the connection
The guests started their day at the Palais de Tokyo, where Kérastase reaffirmed its commitment to
in art by presenting the work created especially for the event by Sara Shakeel.
The award-winning artist, known for the crystals with which she decorates her creations, dazzled everyone at Power Talks
with the exhibition entitled She’s Light Years Ahead which depicts women’s hair as a unifying force.
With four models of different looks and silhouettes, linked together by a thousand metres of shiny hair,
the work reflects a universal understanding based on the shared experiences of women.
Prominent women share their stories
The “Power Talks”, the focus of the whole event, brought together a multitude of model women,
each of them giving their own interpretation of what self-confidence means.
This very exciting, but also educational part of the event was opened by the President of Kérastase Rosa Carriço
talking about the mission of the brand.
The baton was passed to Kérastase Ambassador Ebonee Davis, who read excerpts from her new book
Daughter: The Soul Journey of a Black Woman in America Having a Human Experience.
Immediately afterwards, the audience – consisting of beauty and fashion lovers – watched an interview
with French-American Gaëlle Drevet, founder of The Frankie Shop, about the career change,
but also the difficulties and successes of building your own IT company.
Then Rupi Kaur,a well-known poet, performer, and #1 commercial author on the New York Times list,
presented an adapted version of its sold-out tour.
She then spoke to Stefanie Sword-Williams of F**ck Being Humble about how she found success and her mission
encourage young women to love themselves.
The “Power Talks” was concluded with a long-awaited discussion between Kérastase ‘s Ambassandor
Emily Ratajkowski and the amazing presenter and comedian Amelia Dimoldenberg, who chatted about confidence,
on how you can put any failures behind you, but also on the importance of women supporting women.
This exciting day was an empowering experience for the women who attended, giving them the opportunity to

Another epidemic: The confidence gap for young women
Young women around the world underestimate their abilities and performance compared to men.
So more than 1 in 2 women say they are less confident than men*.
In recent years, Kérastase has carried out research and studies in order to better understand
the issue of women’s self-confidence.
So right now, all over the world, women’s self-confidence is in crisis.
74% of women believe they lack confidence at career-defining moments*,
and that there is a big gap in the way women view skills, working relationships and the way they view women.
but also their future potential compared to men.
More than 1 in 2 women admit that they have hesitated to be assertive because of restrictive beliefs*.
“As a leading hair care brand with a commitment to expanding women’s perspectives, we want to help women find the power to dare,” says Rosa Carriço, President of Kérastase.
“We believe we can do this by helping to bridge the confidence gap. Through our mission, we create mentoring connections with real impact for young women experiencing this gap.”
In 2023, Kérastase launched the “Power Talks” programme
A three-pillar programme, which focuses on impact and is also designed to help young women
gain more confidence, develop self-promotion skills, and tap into useful networks,
and also to support other women in their environment.
The Kérastase initiative will focus on supporting local women’s mentoring programmes
through partnerships with NGOs (such as Step Up in the USA) adopting the “flash mentorship” approach,
based on the idea that a strong debate can have a profound but lasting impact.
This form of coaching will allow both the guides and the guided to become familiar with
faster with experiences that build confidence.
Kérastase also provides content to inform and support women at every stage of their lives,
with the aim of enhancing self-promotion, boosting self-esteem and combating the “impostor syndrome”.
Through this content, female role models from the Kérastase diversity community will share their own perspectives
and their own journey to self-confidence and empowerment, as well as practical advice and thoughts that will inspire other women to believe in themselves and not hesitate to express their ambition.
At the same time, in collaboration with experts from LeanIn.Org, all Kérastase employees will be provided with
internal training on unconscious bias to enhance their confidence in the workplace.
