Make a difference with healthy snacks on the beach

You put on your swimsuit, packed your bag with sunscreen, towel, flip-flops, hat and sunglasses… and although you’re all set for a day trip to the sea… you forgot your diet.
What will you put in your portable cooler or your isothermal bag?

Your friends usually have chips, pizza and kebabs with them. Make the switch and take healthy snacks for both you and your friends. You’ll surprise them by finding that there are healthy foods that are both tasty and can fill you up. What are they?

Fruits and vegetables
Take dried fruit with you, or fresh, washed cherries, strawberries, peaches, peaches, sliced apple, banana, orange or any other fruit you like and of course it is in season. You can also cut small pieces of cucumber and carrot. Fruits and vegetables, in addition to vitamins and fibre, will help you replenish fluids lost through heat.

Nuts
Put in a bowl various, preferably unsalted nuts. They will invigorate you, they will un-stimulate you, they will give you energy and they are also extremely healthy.

Buns, breadsticks, nuts
You can make them or buy them. There are plain, with cheese, with tomato, with oregano, and even completely healthy, whole grain. They are conveniently packaged and because of their rich fiber, they can fill you up.

Sandwiches
Easy to transport, filling and one of the most popular snack options. How healthy you make them is up to you and what you put in them. You can make a sandwich on a whole wheat bread or an Arabic pie (tortilla) and put cheese, turkey, lettuce, lettuce, tomato, cucumber… etc. Don’t overdo it on the ingredients… we said healthy snacks!

Cut cheeses
The title says it all. Put your favourite cheese cut into small pieces in a bowl and whenever you’re hungry, take a bite.

Bread and olives
Cut some slices of bread, preferably wholemeal, and combine them with plain olives. A good choice if you don’t want to eat bread is the aforementioned breadsticks or nuts.

Meatballs
This snack-food is the best for picnics and outings. You can eat them either on their own or with a breadstick.

Biscuits
Find biscuit bases, whole grains, oats, nuts, dried fruit and even dark chocolate. Biscuits are rich in fibre and will definitely give you more energy.

Cereal bars
Easy solution in convenient packaging and they go everywhere. Find the flavor you like and enjoy your meal. You will feel instantly full and energized.
