How to deal with… dilemmas?

Dilemmas exist and we encounter them on a daily basis. Some are simpler like whether or not to go out at night, while others are more complicated, like in relationships and business.
And sometimes when we get into the process of choosing between two mutually exclusive options, we can get short-circuited and feel like we’ve reached a dead end.
Neither option is satisfactory.
What do we do in this case?

Below I have 3 sets of Life Coaching questions that will help you see the dilemmas from a different perspective.

1. Recognition of the dilemma and acceptance.

To get out of the difficult position of choice, what will help and comfort us is the admission that there is a dilemma that we are trying to resolve.
Then ask yourself the following questions:
– Why is this a problem for me?
– Think that you don’t have to resolve any dilemmas. How would you feel?

2. The alternatives.

Many times we make our lives difficult by defining and focusing on only 2 options from the start.
So in any case it is worth looking at the possible alternatives:
– What could be a third option?
– If you had to think of a completely unusual way to solve the dilemma, what would it be?
– Imagine that the dilemma will never be resolved. How do you see it and what are you going to do about it?

3. The other people.

Something that is a dilemma for us may not be for someone else.
Even we ourselves, looking into the past, may not see our old choices with the same weight as we did then.

Consider the following:
– If you asked the wisest man on the planet about your dilemma, what advice would he give you?
– If no other person was affected by your choice, what would you choose?
