Coffee or Tea? I choose tea for 9 reasons!!!!

Coffee or tea; Coffee or Tea? A classic question that puzzles me every time I am asked by the nice stewardess on the plane. If I remember correctly I always choose tea…. and from what I’m learning now, that’s a very good thing!!!! Why? Read below, there are 9 reasons why you should also, when asked the question coffee or tea, choose TEA!!!

1. We may be used to drinking coffee to wake up, but tea can wake you up better than coffee. I’m not talking about relaxing tea but the regular black tea!

2. On the other hand specific tea can relax you. It usually contains less caffeine than coffee, so it’s less likely to make you feel tachycardic, nervous and increase your heart pressure.

3. Tea, especially green tea, boosts your metabolism and helps you lose weight.

4.It has strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory action. The polyphenols and catechins in green tea, for example, make it more of a medicine than a drink, boosting the immune system and shielding it against disease. So one tea a day can keep you healthy.

5. Tea, has antiseptic properties. Specifically, the story is as follows….lived in Europe in the 17th century, where water is not drinkable, so it is not suitable for consumption, causing at least stomach upset. The beverage choices back then were milk, boiled water, beer and tea. What would you choose? Tea to answer, because tea is a tonic for the body, with a rich taste and without any of the side effects of, say, beer.

6. Among other things, tea is good for asthma, bronchitis, stomach upset, headaches, indigestion and depression. Some also help with anti-aging.

7. Its daily consumption shields the heart, protects against certain types of cancer, reduces “bad” cholesterol (LDL), promotes the maintenance of bone density helping to prevent osteoporosis and gives a bright smile, since it has a high fluoride content.

8. In addition to the flavonoid antioxidants it contains, it is rich in vitamin C, vitamins P, E and B, carotenoids, tocopherols and minerals such as chromium, manganese, selenium and zinc.

9. Every tea helps somewhere. Mountain tea, for example, has just as many beneficial properties, which are also due to the flavonoids. It has a beneficial effect on colds and inflammation of the respiratory system, bacteriostatic and antioxidant action, while it is considered sweating, tonic, anti-irritant and anti-anemic because it contains iron.

Specifically

Mountain tea: It has anti-inflammatory action in acute inflammation and antioxidant properties. It also prevents the occurrence of cataracts, blood clots and hypertension. Mountain tea is not stimulating and can be consumed to relax a little before going to bed.

Sage: Sage has beneficial effects in cases of colds, laryngitis and pharyngitis, while popular reports speculate that it plays an important role in relieving unpleasant menopausal symptoms.

Chamomile: Chamomile (chamomilla recutita) is an herb that is very often used for its relaxing and antiseptic properties. It also helps the digestive system and any mucous membrane infection. Didn’t your mom put chamomile compresses on your eyes when you had an infection? He knew something! Because chamomile is ideal for any inflammation in the mouth, eyes, and genitals. It can even treat stomatitis, an inflammation that occurs in patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Echinacea: It is not a well-known tea, but it would be good to know about it since it helps the immune system. Echinacea is the plant of Hollywood stars and looks like a daisy. It contains a highly active substance, echinacea, a glycoside that fights bacteria like a natural antibiotic (6mgr of echinacea corresponds in the laboratory to 1 unit of penicillin), which explains the plant’s effectiveness in streptococcal, staphylococcal infections and simple colds.

Classic tea: Classic tea, depending on the degree of fermentation of the leaves, comes in 3 basic types. There is green tea, where the leaves do not undergo any fermentation process, black tea, where the leaves are fully fermented, and white tea, where the leaves are harvested before they are even fully open, retaining a white colour on top to which it owes its name. This tea contains catechins, caffeine, theanine and butyric acid. Catechins are powerful antioxidants and are found mostly in green and white tea.

Dittany: An essential oil with antimicrobial, antiseptic and antispasmodic properties, which effectively stimulates our body. Dittany is traditionally used as a healing drink and its action against stomach ulcers has recently been confirmed by experiments on strains of Helicobacter pylori.

Mint: The health benefits of mint are pretty much well known. It helps the immune system, reduces the feeling of nausea and any stomach upset, eliminates cramps, bloating, headaches, unpleasant conditions of the gastrointestinal system and affects the hormonal balance in our body. Among other things, according to a controlled study, drinking mint tea reduces male hormones and hyperthyroidism. It improves memory, prevents chronic diseases such as cancer and has anti-inflammatory and antifungal activities.
