By tomorrow, the Prime Minister will announce the government’s decisions on the compulsory vaccination in certain fields, as well as the framework for the operation of closed areas from the end of this week, government spokeswoman Aristotelia Peloni said.
Also, this week the platform for voluntary vaccination of children aged 15 to 17 with parental consent opens and announcements will be made this afternoon during the briefing at the Ministry of Health.
It was also announced that children aged 12 to 17 years are added to the beneficiaries of the self-test, while the availability of self-diagnostic tests through pharmacies is extended until July.

Ms. Peloni stressed that the new outbreak of the pandemic that is occurring in regions such as Attica, Crete and the North Aegean has as its main characteristic the increase in cases in young people.
Under 40, 70% of cases with the Delta mutation
75% of new cases are in people younger than 34 years old, while the bulk of cases are in people aged 15 to 24 years. 70% of cases with the Delta mutation are under the age of 40, and of all cases with the new strain, 13% were hospitalised, of which none were fully vaccinated.
The government spokeswoman stressed that data from the UK and Israel, where the Delta mutation is already prevalent, show that vaccinees rarely become severely ill.
How vaccinations are progressing
On the progress of vaccinations in Greece, Ms. Peloni pointed out that vaccinations have reached 9.2 million doses and fully vaccinated citizens are over 4.2 million. As of last Thursday, 70% of citizens 60 and over are now fully vaccinated.
