My poor little hands, what happened to you.
A little too much antiseptic required, due to coveted season, to put on all day.
A little too frequent and proper hand washing with soap and water, our hands with so much scrubbing have lost apart from germs and all the microorganisms that kept them healthy and moisturized. No, we don’t have to stop washing them systematically, but we have to start taking care of them with a little more love!!!
Every day while doing household chores, don’t forget to wear gloves, preferably the well-known rubber ones, so that your hands don’t come into direct contact with chemicals.
Chemicals dehydrate your hands much more, so by wearing gloves, you reduce the amount of time your hands are wet.
How else can you avoid dry hands? By Exfoliation!!!!
Because exfoliation, not only your facial skin needs exfoliation, but also your hands.
Don’t you want soft hands, no cracks? You do.
So get busy and make one of the hand scrubs I’ve listed below.
For the olive oil lotion you won’t need anything other than 1 teaspoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice! Whisk the oil and lemon juice well, let the mixture sit for 20 minutes on your hands and then rinse well.
For the Hand Scrub, the ingredients are 2 1/2 cups of sugar, 1 cup of olive oil and 4 tablespoons of lemon juice. Mix the ingredients until a homogeneous mixture is formed. When ready, apply a small amount to the top of your hand, rubbing gently for 3.4 minutes in a circular motion. Wash it off with lukewarm water! You can make enough, store it in a jar and have your scrub ready whenever you want.
And after rinsing your hands with lukewarm water (hot water and soap creates dryness), now is the perfect time to use a moisturizer. There are many commercially available, with wonderful scents. Choose whichever one you like.
As I said above, soaps, especially under the conditions we live in and we have to wash our hands almost all the time, are not the best for our hands. In particular, most soaps have a high pH, which will cause unnecessary dryness. So choose a liquid soap and preferably one that contains fatty substances such as glycerin, almond oil, olive oil, lanolin, paraffin or special emulsions.
Finally ideal for dry hands is Vaseline. Just before going to bed at night, apply Vaseline to your hands and wear cotton gloves. The encapsulation of the moisturizing Vaseline will be absorbed and when you wake up you will see your transformed hands, softer than ever.
