AVEDA IS PROUDLY CERTIFIED WITH THE CRUELTY FREE INTERNATIONAL LEAPING BUNNY STANDARD

We have been against animal experimentation since our foundation.
Aveda is now proudly certified Leaping Bunny by Cruelty Free International.

All Aveda cosmetics and skincare products now carry the globally recognised gold standard for cruelty free certification, products from Cruelty Free International.

Aveda, the high-performance, vegan hair care brand that has opposed animal testing since its inception in 1978.
Thus, it announces its certification with the Leaping Bunny standard by Cruelty Free International.

In order to receive the Leaping Bunny certification, Cruelty Free International took care to ensure that Aveda does not conduct or allow animal testing of its products, raw materials and ingredients.

The brand underwent a rigorous, multi-year testing process by Cruelty Free International.
More specifically, this was done to verify that suppliers and manufacturers comply with all the criteria
of Leaping Bunny for its products.
In addition, to maintain recognition under the Leaping Bunny program, Aveda will be audited every 12 months.
In particular, this is done by Cruelty Free International to ensure continued compliance.

“Aveda was founded on caring for the world we live in.
This has always meant not doing experiments on animals,” said Barbara De Laere, Global Brand President of Aveda.
“We have been a sustainability pioneer for more than 40 years and we are proud to underline this commitment to the planet and its inhabitants with the Leaping Bunny certification, the internationally recognised gold standard for cruelty-free cosmetics by Cruelty Free International.

Achieving Leaping Bunny certification is a key achievement of Aveda’s goals to provide greater transparency through trusted external organisations.
The Leaping Bunny scheme applies to all Aveda hair, skin and body care products, which are available in thousands of salons and shops around the world.
This also includes Aveda’s hair colouring products, which are available exclusively at its partner salons.

Michelle Thew, CEO of Cruelty Free International, said: “Aveda has a well-deserved reputation for its decades-long commitment to ethical practices and sustainability.
I am thrilled that this now includes Leaping Bunny certification for Aveda products.”

Creating a more sustainable future

In line with Aveda’s mission since its inception to care for the world we live in, the brand has been a pioneer in environmental responsibility in the beauty sector for decades, with priorities in the following areas:
safe beauty, responsible production of raw materials, recycled packaging, vegan formulations,
production driven by environmental protection, animal welfare
and finally to contribute to the protection and supply of clean water.
This is for people in need globally and locally around the world.

Aveda carries out its mission at our 58-acre headquarters.
They are certified by the National Wildlife Federation in Minnesota, with bee colonies, an employee-curated vegetable garden, electric vehicle charging stations and extra miles of running trails.
In addition, the main office building emphasizes sustainability:
This means that it is powered by solar and wind energy, is carpeted with recycled fibre carpets, has composting and recycling bins throughout the building and an organic café.
