The opinions are closing! A hard lockdown is recommended by infectious disease experts. Not to close the hairdressers and retailers suggests in an interview with ANT1 the Minister of Development Adonis Georgiades. Attica went into the red, with an alarming spike in cases. We all await the government’s decisions.

Since the morning, the infectious disease experts are meeting with the experts of the Ministry of Health’s committee on coronavirus, with the main subject of discussion the “red” areas, which since yesterday, Thursday 28 January, include Attica.
The news is reportedly not positive in terms of the trend of cases, as the morning figures were also on an upward trend. 50% of the country’s population is located in Attica, which makes the future worrying in terms of tightening measures.

With 2500 cases active in Attica, Professor of Infectious Diseases, Nikos Sipsas, speaking on OPEN TV’s “Hellenic Hour” confirmed that Attica is in the “red” and that one of the considerations being considered is a curfew to be in effect from 18:00 in the afternoon. At the same time, clothing, footwear and jewelry stores, since the entire county went on red alert, will revert to the click away or click in shop method .

With regard to schools, there is talk of extending their closure, at least for another week. According to Mr. Sypsis, high schools are a “grey zone” and “high schools are epidemiologically more dangerous”.

“We will not hesitate to restrict activities when outbreaks flare up”, was the exact phrase of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, indicating that the government, following the recommendations of the infectious disease specialists, is ready for anything.

On the other hand, the president of the Athens Commercial Association, Mr. Kafounis, asked that the other sectors be considered. “Let’s exhaust rigour everywhere. Restrictions should also be imposed on traffic. Retailers can’t always takethe hit,” he said, adding that “Commerce is the largest employer in the country.”

We are optimistic for the best possible and we are waiting for the government’s decisions, which will be taken this afternoon!!!
