The official trailer has been released for the highly anticipated House of Gucci, the film about the murder of Maurizio Gucci by his wife Patricia Reggiani, signed by Ridley Scott.
Fashion, style, wild parties but also a murder. And all this to the sounds of Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” is included in the trailer, which features frontline names like Lady Gaga, who plays Regiani, in the foreground, Adam Driver as Maurizio Gucci, Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci, Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci and Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci.
“House of Gucci” is one of two films by the American director premiering this autumn. The film is based on Sarah Gay Forden’s book “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed” and chronicles the decadent marriage of Patricia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci, the orchestration of his murder and Reggiani’s conviction.
On 27 March 1995, Maurizio was murdered on his way into his office. Initially, the police believed that his murder was linked either to family feuds within the Gucci family or to his ties to underworld figures he had met at the casino. After his death Patricia was very “careless”, telling friends and journalists that she still wanted him dead. Maurizio Gucci’s ex-wife was sentenced to 29 years in prison.
