And while the quarantine continues, the outbreaks multiply, the concern of experts and non-specialists alike is growing. The scenarios as to when we will return to our normalcy, are rife. The infectious diseases experts want other things, the other bodies want other things…!!!!
According to Development Minister Adonis Georgiades, “on March 22 or at the latest on March 29, retail trade will be fully open and in April the catering sector will open”.
In particular, Mr. Georgiades said that as far as retailing is concerned, the click away method is no longer being considered, but only the sms method which will allow up to three hours of consumer presence in shops. At the same time, additional stricter health measures will apply. He also said that the restaurant will open in a second year, probably on April 15, and only outdoors, noting that this will depend on the progress of vaccinations.
According to reports, the government’s plan to open up the restaurant industry will provide for four people per table, and there will be frequent testing of workers, which will be partly covered by government funds.
“I am not saying that the pandemic will disappear, the pandemic will be here and we will be living with it for a long time to come,” the Minister of Development commented, optimistic that having reached a level of vaccination, there will be a sufficient wall of protection for the vulnerable that will allow us to start to have a smoother economic activity.
Anything is possible.. to see when we will open and under what conditions!!!!
