Ultra Violet: The invisible enemy of hair.
Read my article and protect your hair from the sun and you won’t lose it!
General
There are three types of UV radiation:
UVA makes up 95% of the total radiation that reaches the Earth and we can distinguish it
from the English word Aging, because it causes photoaging.
In addition, it is the radiation that causes the colour changes, regardless of the type of hair.
UVB makes up about 5% of the ultraviolet radiation that reaches the Earth’s surface.
The English word Burning can be identified with UVB ultraviolet rays.
Indeed, it causes burning and burns!
It is also the main radiation responsible for the loss of hair proteins.
The ozone layer fully absorbs UVC radiation, so we are not concerned about this kind of radiation.
In the meantime…
You’re back from your holiday and what to see?
Initially dry hair, with broken ends and split ends.
Hair without elasticity, without intensity in color.
Hair that screams HELP!
What if I had a hair on my tongue to advise you to protect your hair.
With a few exceptions, the hair had lost its shine and the main culprit was the sun.
The worst… I even saw burns on the scalp and especially in men where there is a thinning of the hair.
So what do you think?
Will you be careful next time you go out in the sun?
We said that the sun is important for our health but with limited exposure to UV radiation.
Protection
Like the skin, hair also needs sunscreen products.
As far as the scalp is concerned, repeated sunburns can be a cause of skin cancer,
even on the scalp!
So be careful!
Cover your head with a hat or scarf during sunbathing.
We put sunscreen products on our hair and scalp.
There is a wide variety of fragrances and textures.
I personally recommend a sunscreen veil that does not grease the hair and protects it from UVA and UVB ultraviolet radiation.
Then, after exposure to the sun, wash the hair with after sun shampoo that has soothing elements.
At the same time, they reduce the loss of moisture in the hair.
In addition, they remove the residues from seawater and chlorine from the pool.
At the end, we use after sun masks that reconstruct up to 100% of sun damaged hair.
These distribute the nutrients evenly in the hair.
They balance the moisture levels and we have immediate visible results!
And one last tip: When exposed to the sun, change the position of the hair parting in the hair.
It has been found that the time it takes the sun to cause damage is less than 15 minutes.
So don’t leave the same area exposed all the time.
It is true that UV radiation can even cause a change in the hair growth cycle.
We are careful to have!
I will continue to advise you because I love hair!
As for you, I hope you will be more careful next time you go out in the sun.
Friendly,
Yannos Mindilonitis.
