Black… Should I paint them black?

Black hair. Should I paint them or not?

You’re going to paint them black?
Not because someone has upset you, but because it’s time for you to make a radical change.
In this article I believe I will help you decide to make a very difficult decision,
which will help you decide.
I have learned from my experience that there are many advantages and disadvantages to dyeing black hair.

Before you decide, remember not to do it alone…
Discuss it with your hairdresser and make the right decision together.
Your hairdresser is the person who will advise you on the colour you decide on,
based on the shades you have on your skin, eyes and eyebrows.
He will also point out the pros and cons of such a serious decision.

Before you dye your hair black you should know about its maintenance.
Hair grows about 1.5 inches per month and in case you have an open root,
you’re gonna have to service it every 30 to 40 days, so let’s not be stingy.
In case your whites are over 70%, there the maintenance of the colour at the root
should be at most 20 days.
Black is a special color you need to use very good quality shampoo, so that
keep the colour as vibrant and bright as possible without unwanted red iridescence.
Black hair is a commitment, if not for life, at least for the foreseeable future.
Black dye does not destroy natural hair by itself.

But what happens when we want to open them.

The transition from dyed black hair to blonde is very difficult.
Not only is it technically difficult to bypass the dreaded coppery red image of your hair,
but you should also know that the quality of your hair will never be the same again,
unless you can afford not to touch them until they grow out on their own.
The transition from black to blonde is as follows.
It starts with dark browns, then reds, bronzes and finally yellows.

What not to do alone.

There’s no way in the world you should try to open your hair by yourself
or with the help of your friends because you risk losing your hair.
Your hairdresser’s advice should be gospel to you,
you have to follow whatever he tells you
for the transition from black to lighter shades.
In salons now there are special colorants that can open the hair,
with softer and more gentle products that are friendly to the quality of the hair, as well as plexus to protect the hair’s bonds.

I would suggest using softer techniques such as highlights rather than more aggressive ones such as total discoloration.
All products that discolor black dye are quite damaging to the hair,
as well as being quite time-consuming and expensive.

In other words, it’s a good idea before you make the decision to dye your hair,
you’ve given this a lot of thought.
It’s a decision you have to make, because you’ll have to keep it for several years afterwards.
Black is a bold, intense and quite demanding colour and needs strong personalities,
I recommend it for fresh skin and intense cut lines.
What I always tell all my clients is that white and black are the two most extreme colors.
and difficult colors for hairdressers.

Yours sincerely,
Elizabeth Makri
