The Board of Directors of the Association of Barber Hairdressers and Hairdressers Shopkeepers of N. Messinia and the
Cladical Federation of Hairdressers and Barbers of Greece (K.O.K.K.K.K.K.E)
, organized the annual
a celebration of hairdressers, honouring the memory of the martyr Elias Ardounis (barber).
As every year, the celebration takes place on 30 April,
which is the day of the feast of the Messinian Saints, at the celebrating Holy Metropolitan Church of Christ the Redeemer of Kalamata.
Celebration of the Orthros and Divine Liturgy
At 07:00 the celebration of the Orthodox and the Divine Liturgy, presided by the Metropolitan of Messinia, Mr. κ. Chrysostom.
Then, the Litany of the Holy Relics and the icon of the Saint took place,
headed by the Bishop of Messinia Mr. Chrysostomos.
Conference on issues of direct relevance to the sector
Then, the conference took place, which was implemented by the Association of Barbers, Hairdressers and Shopkeepers of N. Messinia,
under the auspices of the Supreme Federation of K.O.K.K.K.K.E., at the Messinia Chamber of Commerce.
The conference was attended by Mrs. Maria Sotiropoulou, President of KOKKKE – Cladic Federation of Shopkeepers
Hairdressers of Greece, Mr. Apostolos Zoumboulakis, Vice President KOKKE-Classical Federation
Shopkeepers of Hairdressers of Greece, Mr. Dimitris Matemtzis, General Secretary of the KOKKE-Classical Federation of Shopkeepers of Hairdressers of Greece and Mrs. Vaso Makropoulou, President of the Association of Hairdressers of Greece.

The conference was addressed by Mr. Georgios Kavvathas, President of GSEBEE,
Mr. Pavlos Kraniotis, Vice President of the Chamber of Messinia,
Mr. George Kaperonis, President of the Local Federation of OEBE and financial Supervisor of the Chamber of Messinia,
also Mr. Pavlos Graikis, Secretary General of the Chamber and Secretary of the National Copyright Committee
in addition Mr. Kostas Tsakrilis, President of the Association of Hairdressers and Hairdressers of Achaia Agia Trias
and finally Mr. Michalis Mezinis, President of the Association of Shopkeepers of Hairdressers of Corinth and surroundings and member of the
KOKKKE-Classical Federation of Shopkeepers of Hairdressers of Greece.
The topics discussed at the conference were:
- The abolition of advance tax and business tax.
- Immediate introduction of a tax-free threshold for all entrepreneurs, as is the case for other Greek citizens.
- Establishment of the Sunday holiday, strictly open shops three Sundays a year.
- Conversion of the permissible advance payment measure to a non-permissible one.
- Design of a new regulation of 120-240 instalments for all business debts, with the removal of surcharges and also of panotokis.
- Write-off of all insurance contributions created during the period when the enterprises remained closed by state order.
- Supporting businesses with new targeted liquidity programmes, so that more businesses can join them, as so far only 10% have met the criteria for inclusion in these programmes.
- Provision for the participation of small businesses in the Development Fund programmes, the NSRF and the Development Law.
- Protecting businesses from the surge in revaluations.
- And finally, the immediate reduction of energy companies’ tariffs, as well as generous regulations, since the costs are already considered unbearable.
Exchange of souvenirs between Greece and Cyprus
After the conference, the Hairdressers’ Registration Board & Cyprus, donated a commemorative plaque,
to the Association of Barber Shopkeepers of Messinia, as a sign of friendship and good cooperation,
while the Association of Barber Barber Shopkeepers of Messinia, donated the book “MESSINIA” as a souvenir,
of Yannis Yiannelos, at the Council of Registration of Hairdressers & Cyprus and the Cyprus Federation of Hairdressers.
Hairdressing Show
In the end, a big hairdressing show followed, at the Kalamata Cultural Centre,
from the VANG Training and Retraining Academy,
where Mr. Apostolos Zoumboulakis, Vice President of KOKKE, and Ms. Eleni Kefala greeted the audience before the show,
President of the Barber Hairdressers’ Association, but also Mrs. Vasso Makropoulou, President of the Barber Hairdressers’ Association of Shopkeepers of Messinia & Member.
The show was rich in technical details and involved haircuts and evening hairstyles.
