Keratin treatment! The must treatment of the summer…
Brazilian keratin is the must treatment especially for the summer months.
But do you know as much as you should about Formaldehyde and keratin treatments?
There are many companies with amazing products that each give us different possibilities.
Naturally, each of these is aimed at different situations…
In the market we will find keratins in cream form
(white or purple, which have the ability to soften the yellow tones of the hair)
or liquid, which is applied by spraying.
But how do you choose the right treatment for your situation?
Surely your hairdresser is the one who will guide you to the right choice!
But let’s see what you should look out for before you make the decision?
Formaldehyde: truths and lies!
A very important issue that concerns us about keratins is formaldehyde.
But really, do you know what is that ingredient that is so “bad” you should avoid it?
Let’s see what it is..
It is a colourless gas with a strong odour that helps preserve products.
Formaldehyde is a substance used in over 20% of beauty products,
and even in cleaning products for the home.
It’s almost everywhere around us (even in the smog we breathe).
But how does it become truly dangerous as an ingredient?
Formaldehyde is a gas that is only released by combustion!
All products are required to list all their ingredients on the label…
except for ingredients contained in a quantity of less than 0,5 % in the composition of the product…
As you can tell if a product (e.g. keratin) contains less than 0.5% formaldehyde,
is not obliged to enter it.
And how can I be sure if it is contained in the keratin ingredients I have chosen?
If it is not rinsed from the hair before using a press!
As I mentioned above, formaldehyde is a gas that is only released by combustion!
So if the horn product I will use will not rinse off before using a press,
then I should know that it contains a percentage of formaldehyde (in almost 99% of remedies of this kind).
Is there a Brazilian isiotic keratin rinse-off treatment?
Yes! And this is BIOTANIX of the company Prime Pro Exreme!
The only keratin that is 100% removable before using a hair press.
The main ingredient of its action is tannins.
They are intertwined and bound to certain proteins and other organic compounds,
such as amino acids and alkaloids and are used as a natural preservative even in oak barrels,
where the wines are restored!
So now you know that you should do a good market research before choosing the next keratin application for you!
Stay tuned and in the next article we will see in detail how this treatment affects our hair!
