Via Instagram, the famous Hollywood actress expressed her complaint about the fashion world: “I couldn’t find clothes for my postpartum body!”
And heck girls, when Blake Lively, who is super short, although a mother of three, feels this way, how are we mere mortals supposed to feel?
The story is as follows: A few days ago, the beautiful actress shared a story via Instagram, describing how she struggled to find clothes that fit her after giving birth to her third daughter Betty in October 2019.
Posting a photo from her appearance on“The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon, she wrote: “I paired a Lanvin shirt with a dress from Net-a-Porter to create this beautiful outfit. Because no one had samples that would fit me when I gave birth. And so many clothes from stores also didn’t do it for me. So much. Many“.
And then he added: “It doesn’t send a good message to women when their bodies don’t fit into the clothes that companies have to offer. It confuses them and drives them away. And I wish I felt as confident then as I do now looking back a year later. This body gave me a baby. And it produced all of this baby’s food. What a wonderful miracle. But instead of feeling proud, I felt insecure. Simply because I couldn’t fit into the clothes. How silly is that retroactively? Katie Sturino and others out there are challenging companies to try harder, helping women not feel alone. And they do an excellent job. It reminded me that we can all ask the companies we love to try harder“.
A big round of applause for Blake for having the courage to speak openly about her insecurities sending a resounding message of body positivity. It’s time to stop crying in the dressing rooms…
