What does this mean for me, as a hair colourist?
It means that every woman has her own unique way of expressing – and hair is a way of expressing – each period in her life. Following her psychology rather than the fashion trend.
This is especially evident in important events and changes in a woman’s life.
For future brides, it is not important what is fashionable in the bridal hairstyle, but how she feels good with her hair. And usually, most a year before they make sure their hair is healthy, shiny and long, especially for this important wedding day.
Now in the period that we are inafter every quarantine, many women want to bleach their hair from above and no longer ask what is fashionable, but what will suit her.
Many even restore the natural grey colour to their hair, fearing that the salons will close again and wondering how they will maintain their colour in the 15 or 20 days that they need to be renewed. So that’s how need brings fashion and that’s how trends are created through the situation we are experiencing !
Think after a breakup, how many times have you thought about making a change?
For example, I will refer to myself.
I had previously had my hair short, shaved and blonde.
A very strict style I would say and masculine, but the makeup and the clothes were very feminine and elegant, sexy, so there was a balance in that contrast.
Then I needed this style, which is an expression of the identity of the psychology of the period I was in. Dynamic but feminine at the same time.
After years I had long hair in warm tones and curls. That was the time when I became a mum and without realizing it I wanted something accessible, sweet and quiet.
Then I had a brunette, there I went through a difficult transition period with many changes in my life …
These changes in my hair made me realize that ultimately hair is connected to every situation and period of my life with incredible identification.
So, through my experience, I see how most women behave with their hair, making changes depending on the period in their lives. This does not mean that they are not influenced by the fashion of the time sometimes.
