L’ORÉAL PROFESSIONAL supports the “social salon” of the Municipality of Chania

The Municipality of Chania, held the opening of the “Social Hairdresser”.

This is the second structure, after the “Social Hairdresser” in Athens,
created with the kind sponsorship of the Professional Products Sector
L’Oréal Hellas (L’Oréal Professional Products),
in order to offer free basic grooming services (haircut, shampoo and shave)
vulnerable groups of citizens who face difficulties in their daily living.

L’Oréal Professional Products, as a leader in the professional products industry, is the
and true to its commitment to offer the gift of beauty and care to every person without distinction,
responded immediately to the request of the Deputy Mayor of Social Affairs, Eleni Zervoudaki,
and the Department of Social Policy of the Municipality of Chania, sponsoring the necessary equipment of the area,
as well as the provision of products for its operation.

The area of the “Social Hairdresser’s Shop”.

Hosted at the Social Laundry of the Municipality of Chania (55 Karaiskaki Street, near the Town Hall)
and is a holistic care unit for vulnerable groups of citizens,
which will be operated by volunteer hairdressers and barbers of Chania.

The Mayor of Chania, Panagiotis Simandirakis, said: “One year after the launch of the Social Laundry, starts today a new social provision from the Municipality of Chania: the Social Hairdresser.
A salon “open” to serve our fellow human beings,
covering their self-evident and inalienable need for dignity, until they can stand on their “feet” again.
The Social Hairdresser of the Municipality of Chania opened its doors and every Monday will offer its services free of charge.
But for this to happen, a necessary condition was the altruism and solidarity of the Brotherhood of Barbers and Hairdressers of Chania and the great contribution of L’Oréal Professional Products that equipped and supported the structure.
We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their generous act.
Along with them, we thank our very active partners in the Social Service and the technical crews of the Municipality,
who constructed and placed all the furniture in the space.”

The inauguration and the official opening of the social structure.

They were held on Monday, June 6, in the presence of the Mayor of Chania, Panagiotis Simandirakis,
of the Deputy Mayor of Social Policy, Eleni Zervoudaki,
representatives of L’Oréal Hellas, as well as the volunteers involved in the project.

The Social Hair Salon of the Municipality of Chania operates every Monday from 9:30 to 12:30,
while beneficiaries can make their appointments at 28213-41692.
