How much does a balayage actually cost?
Many times in my daily life I hear technical work being referred to at unrealistic amounts and I wonder how such technical work can have this cost. But let’s start from the beginning. What is balayage really?

Many hairdressers and consumers alike refer to it as a trend in color.

Balayage is a free technique that allows us to create infinite color gradations in different styles.
So it’s not highlights without foils.
It is an art that every colorist must know in order to be able to “paint” on the hair of every client and to understand where to give light and where to contour.
The cost
So the cost of something like this is not limited to “how much material the hairdresser spoiled”
or “how long it took him.”
The cost has to do with the following:
Cost of hairdressing school: about 5.000euros
Cost of seminars for learning a single technique: about 1.000euros
Cost of salon equipment: from 20.000-80.000euros
Cost of hairdressing per month: from 3000 – 15.000euros
Don’t be in a hurry…
These and many other factors contribute to setting the price on a job. So if a salon asks you 30 euros for a balayage, don’t be in a hurry to be happy.
See first samples of work on what you are looking for and then decide if it is worth paying 30euros and another 150 euros to another salon for colour correction.
Tips
This does not mean that if you pay 200€ somewhere you will get the perfect result.
That’s why we ALWAYS ask to see the hairdresser’s work on what we want to do.
If someone is an artist in hairstyles it doesn’t mean that they are equally good in colour.
