How common is it for an art historian to be a painter at the same time?
Great painters were also art historians or scholars of art history. There is a difference between the good, the very good, and the best! Knowledge is what makes you stand out and shows you the way to success.
Is “talent” enough?
Is “talent” enough to make an artist successful? If we consider that “talent” includes professionalism and ingenuity and does not only refer to painting or hairdressing, then perhaps it is enough. A painter, a craftsman, an artist in general, has to move quickly in all areas, not to close himself in his space, working permanently and looking for opportunities to show off what he does. He has to “manage” himself to be independent and not to be deceived.
How is success built?
The success of an artist is built with a lot of work and not only with his talent, so in my opinion, an artist has to go to exhibitions, seminars, to be informed, to communicate, to study the market and to follow it. Success means hard work and that’s because not all success is built in a day with ease, not to mention failures. Without failure there is no success.
How can you know you’ve really succeeded if you haven’t failed first. In fact, the more failures, the greater the success. So never be disappointed. Know that every failure, apart from having something to teach you, brings you closer to success.
Stop looking for the “magic” recipe.
The magic recipe is what you need to work every day for years. It doesn’t exist on Facebook or in expensive seminars. Don’t keep looking for the secret answer. Don’t relax, success will not come overnight so don’t stop trying. Create realistic goals. Many people say, “I want too much money.” And then they wonder why they still don’t have them. But this goal is not achievable. And of course it is not an incentive. Money is very important but you will not feel satisfied. Create the target route and enjoy the result.
Enrich your knowledge.
You don’t have to be the best from day one. But you can start learning. If you invest time daily in your development, you will be surprised at your performance a year from now. One step at a time!
Sure successful people could write a million tips to succeed in life but if you are not willing to work, they won’t work. Some of you will choose hard work to achieve what you want and some of you will not. But whatever you choose, remember it takes time to find happiness and satisfaction in your life!
