A particularly important issue that many colleagues are concerned about is how to find suitable staff for their salon.
The same of course applies to young hairdressers, who are now graduating from school and have very little experience,
so that they can cope with all the requirements of the living room.
In the old days, it was very easy to get into a hairdressing salon after finishing school,
so that you gain experience slowly and over time.
In today’s world, with all the difficulties a business faces,
it’s very difficult to hire an employee who is actually doing training.
Consequently, graduates of the schools do not gain experience within our workplace.
How could we change that?
Recognizing the need, both as a professional and as an educator,
I feel that between the school and the salon there is still a step to be taken.
An educational step that will unlock the hands of young children and provide ready-made professionals in hairdressing.
Functional people who will deliver and are guaranteed to be able to cope with the demands of the job
Postgraduate Programme in Hairdressing
So, I designed and for the first time this year I will implement the Postgraduate Programme in Hairdressing.
In September, with a carefully selected group of graduates and young hairdressers, we will start training in a structured programme covering all areas of work.
From the theory part to even the part of selling products in the salon.
The setting up of the Program was done after careful study of all the needs I have observed within my space,
but also by the demand that arises and I observe in the Digital Hair Academy courses.
Within 6 months, on a weekly basis, our students will attend courses in the fields of hairdressing
and each time they will prepare papers on the different themes.
If someone cannot meet the requirements of the Programme, they will leave,
as the standards we have set are high and we expect professionalism and dedication in training.
Once the Program is successfully completed, our Academy will promote its graduates to hairdressing salons.
