Halloween

“Halloween” is a celebration…

Admittedly, not so well known in Greece… but very well known all over the world…

Although Halloween originated in Europe and especially by the Scots and Irish, it is known as an American holiday.
Because it is quite “commercial”, it is a good opportunity to move the market.

Traditionally, it is celebrated on the night of 31 October to 1 November on the eve of All Hallow Even (Halloween).
Children dressed up in something “scary”, ringing bells and doors and startling people by saying the familiar “trick or treat”.

According to legend…

Well, a rogue Jack, who was playing the magician, managed to fool the Devil.
He put him in a tree hollow, but in the whole effort he lost his ticket to heaven.
Not knowing where to go, the unfortunate man was trapped between the two worlds of the dead and the living.

And where did poor Jack end up?

He was left alone to makejack-o-lanternsfor his candles in the morning, and at night he went around looking for a place to finally rest.
So even today, in America especially and timidly in Greece, it’s a day of celebration.

A celebration?!

Yes! With disguises, with pumpkins, with witches, with bats, with colours, with crazy hair and crazy clothes!
Reason for fun for children and adults alike😉

Besides, it reminds you so much of our Halloween, Dionysus and the mysteries…
