A legislative provision of the Ministry of Finance extends the deadline for the submission of tax returns ,
until 30 August 2022.
As a reminder, the deadline for their submission would have been 29 July.
Also, in a related statement it said:
Despite the fact that this year the electronic platform for the submission of personal income tax returns
started operating from 30 March 2022 and by yesterday 81% of tax returns had been submitted,
this extension was deemed necessary in view of the particular circumstances prevailing,
in order to make it easier for taxpayers, accountants and tax advisors,
exhausting all possible extensions.
Statements.
In addition, the Minister of Finance, Mr. Christos Staikouras and the Deputy Minister of Tax Policy and Public Property,
κ. Apostolos Vessiropoulos made the following statement:
“The Government, fully aware of the difficulties faced by citizens,
but also the increased workload of accountants and tax advisers in recent times,
due to the energy crisis requiring applications to be submitted on a variety of online aid platforms,
but also because of the pandemic which leads to delays in the work of citizens and accountants who are ill,
extends the deadline for submitting tax returns until 30 August.
This is the last extension granted to allow everyone to complete the declaration process
and to be consistent with their obligations.”
Income tax: The first two monthly instalments.
Finally, the first two monthly instalments (July and August) of the tax due,
must be paid by 31 August 2022.
