DIY facial peeling recipes with oats

Exfoliation helps to remove dead skin cells from the epidermis. Regular application of our familiar scrubs can also help prevent clogged pores and stimulate collagen production.
Below, you will find some homemade recipes for exfoliating your face, which will give you stronger, smoother and glowing skin, less prone to acne.

DIY facial peeling recipes

1. Oat and yoghurt scrub

Oats are not only a safe choice for breakfast – but also an excellent ingredient for skin care. In the market, oats are contained in many types of skin care products. According to research, oats contain compounds called phenols, which have antioxidant activity. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and can soothe the skin. Yogurt, which has natural lactic acid, can help to enhance exfoliation. This recipe works well for mixed skins.

What will you need?

2 tablespoons of finely ground oats (organic if possible)

1 tablespoon of (organic) yoghurt

1 tablespoon of jojoba oil, coconut oil or olive oil

Method of preparation

Grind the oats to a fine powder using a coffee grinder or food processor. Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Apply to clean skin in gentle circles for about 30 to 60 seconds. Rinse the product from your skin with lukewarm water.

2. Honey and oat scrub

Honey is an excellent choice for facial exfoliation because of its ability to balance the bacteria on your skin. This makes it an effective ingredient against acne. In addition, honey is both a natural exfoliant and moisturizer.

What will you need?

1/4 cup plain oats, ground

1/8 cup raw honey

1/8 cup jojoba oil or oil of your choice

Method of preparation

Grind the oats to a fine powder using a coffee grinder or food processor. Heat the honey slightly in the microwave for a few seconds to make it easier to mix it with the other ingredients. Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Apply to the skin, with gentle movements for about 60 seconds. Rinse the product with lukewarm water.
