The line between the small screen and the big screen has never been thinner. It makes sense that the red carpet at the 2021 Emmy Awards was full of movie fashion. TV’s biggest night shone with neon hues, feathered details and mile-long tails. The celebrities have no trouble putting on their best, but their vision for the Emmys was especially evident.
At SoHo House in London, the atmosphere was minimalist and elegant, thanks to the cast of Netflix’s The Crown. Gillian Anderson wore an ecru Chloé crop top with embellishments and a worn-out skirt. Olivia Coleman embraced simplicity in a Roksanda dress with a built-in cape. The always original Emma Corrin chose for the 2021 Emmys Miu Miu Miu in the shade of gold with a bathing cap and a deadly sleeve
Yara Shahidi dazzled us with a green Dior Haute Couture cocktail dress. Issa Rae dared to be transparent with a woven silver slip dress by Aliétte. Michaela Coel wore the colour of the evening in a neon yellow top and matching skirt by Christopher John Rogers. The same vivaciousness lit up Anya Taylor-Joy’s elegant Diya Haute Couture coat. However, the best moment of the evening was by far Elizabeth Olsen in a dress designed by sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley. Honored with a red carpet of nostalgic glamour we haven’t enjoyed in a long time.
